A Fraudulent Fund?

A Fraudulent Fund?

“We will use every single penny in that fund in the search for Madeleine.

                                        Gerry McCann 2009

I wouldn’t know if the McCann Fund is fraudulent and even if it was, I wouldn’t know in what way fraudulent.

The published accounts as the years have passed have given less information each time.  They do however make interesting reading and can be found on McCannfiles.

I am not quoting the exact wording but the Fund was set up for the purpose of “searching”  for Madeleine (whatever in hell that means in McCannworld, no one seems to know - another of the great mysteries that the McCanns are involved in) finding the child, finding the perpetrators of crimes against the child, and bringing them to justice.

When and only when this objective is achieved, would any monies remaining in the Fund at that time be passed on to other organisations to help families of other missing children.

This recent development though, I would have to say deems that the McCanns have acted out with the terms of the Fund, when they chose not to follow the advice given by the private detectives who they employed to trace the child, the perpetrators of crimes against her, and did not follow the leads they provided which would have allowed their ‘search’ to progress.

It seems to me that they have deceived the public by not using the Fund monies which were available to them in November 2008 to circulate the E.Fits which may have led to discovering the whereabouts of the child, and those responsible for her disappearance.

By not doing so, but continuing to accept any donations made, I would say they were not acting properly, not managing the Fund properly.

The McCann couple were interviewed by Sandra Felgueiras in 2009 and Sandra Felgueiras asked about the Fund how they managed to afford all that they do.

Bear in mind it was in 2008 they received the information from the private detectives re the E.Fits – which they buried did not release in the public domain, one of the reasons given to the Sunday Times this weekend, was that they could not afford to follow up on these – could not afford to follow leads regarding two sightings.

They could have passed it to police at that time and perhaps had the case re-opened!

But let us look at what the McCanns told Sandra during the interview with regards their/the Funds financial position:

GM – Gerry McCann

KM – Kate McCann

SF – Sandra Felgueiras

GM:  Obviously, when Clarence first came out, errr... to Portugal working, errr... for the Government, at that time, he came out and spent, I think, almost three... two to three weeks with us, and we... he got to know us very, very well, and he felt very very passionate about, errr... the search for Madeleine and when the opportunity arose, errm... you know, we asked him if he would come back and shield us from the intense media interest and that's what Clarence has done superbly well, and he's become an extremely good friend during this.

SF: But he must be paid?

GM: He was paid, that's right.

SF: And now he must be paid?

GM: Yeah, but you know...

SF: Isn't it difficult for you to pay him?

GM: You know the first, errr... period, errr... Brian Kennedy paid his salary and then he was subsequently paid by the Fund and now, you know, he works part-time on this, and is a consultant, errr... for Freud Agency, so, you know, as the media interest has dropped down, we haven't needed a... a full-time spokesperson, errr... to do that.

He still works with us, we are working very closely with him and he's done a brilliant job protecting us and allowing us to have some degree of normality as a family considering the very, very intense media interest.

SF: You have also hired a new communication agency back in Portugal. Errr...

Why do you think you... you need it and is it easy for you to afford it?

GM: Well again, it is the agreement that it is funded out of Madeleine's Fund and it's a decision that was made by the Directors of the Fund because we felt... Kate and I are both directors - there are nine directors in total - that to really make the search successful we had to present the information to the Portuguese public, given how much, errr... had been written in a negative way about us and obviously we want to work with someone who understands the Portuguese, errr... culture and the Portuguese media and how we can persuade people that Madeleine is still out there and still can be found, just like Jaycee Lee Dugard.

SF:  Until when do you think that you will afford all this?

Errr... Two lawyers in Portugal, a news agency, errr... Clarence Mitchell. I don't know if you still have the two lawyers that you have hired here in London?

It's not ideal, you know, Sandra. We wouldn't have any lawyers, we wouldn't need...

SF: (over talking) Yes, I understand that...

KM: ...any kind of PR, if we weren't in this situation, so nobody's...

SF: But don't you feel strangled? Don't you feel...
KM: (over talking) But we have to do it.

SF: ...that some day it will finish, the money?

KM: We have to... we have to do whatever we can to find Madeleine and obviously we have to look at, sort of, you know, if the Fund starts to run out then we have to try and get more money in. But we can't stop.

SF: And how will you do it?

GM: Well, you know, people have been extremely kind. You have to remember that the Fund was set up initially because so many people offered money to try and help and wanted to help and were prepared to donate.

We would love nothing better for Madeleine to be found and for the... the remaining monies in the Fund to go to helping other families in, errr... of missing children, both in the UK and Portugal, and that's one of the objectives when we've found Madeleine... and her abductor, then the monies will be used for that.  Obviously, if the money runs out... is running out, then we have to look at alternative ways, errr... of fundraising, errm... we've done, you know, small events, community events, which have been very good for team building. We've had a small auction in Madeleine's school and the school that the twins are at.

SF: Do you still have the support of Mr Richard Branson, JK Rowling, this multimillionaire that initially, errr... gave you a lot of money?

GM: (*) ...independent investigation that's led that team is Funded completely out of Madeleine's Fund... I mean an event like today, there's no specific cost for it and this is obviously the internet; people already have subscriptions, they can do this.

There's a willingness of the population to help and I think we'll find hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people today will forward this link to their contacts in countries all over the world. That is cheap. The Fund...

SF: Do you still have money in the fund?

GM: There is some money still, errr... in the fund, errr... and it continues to be used and we will use every single penny in that fund in the search for Madeleine.

They accepted the monies, donated by the public, but did not put them to the use for which the monies given were intended- not every single penny!

It is quite obvious that in 2008 the Madeleine Fund could more than afford to follow up the leads, publicise the E.Fits given to Kate and Gerry McCann by their private detectives which would have helped find young Madeleine what became of her.

Scumbag Mitchell I see was being paid from the Fund – there was enough to pay him his £70,000 per annum while Madeleine rotted in the lair with the paedophiles…

To say that it was too expensive to have followed leads to publicise the E. Fits an absolute disgrace.  A downright lie in fact!

And as we can see also, they could have put the E.Fits on the internet and they would have reached millions all over the world!

Yet they didn’t!   And if that is not suspicious I sure in hell don’t know what is!

As for telling Sandra Felgueiras that every penny in that Fund would be spent on finding Madeleine - the biggest porky ever!

Just read their responses to Sandra Felgueiras take a look at what and who the money was being spent on:

  • lawyers in Portugal
  • lawyers in UK
  • on news agencies
  • on Clarence Mitchell
ALL to protect THEM, the parents.  And to persuade the Portuguese people that Madeleine was STILL out there!

Note also how they avoided answering when asked if JK Rowling and others were still backing them.

Slippier than a bag of eels the pair of them!

If if there was a child failed by her parents, it is Madeleine McCann both before and after her mysterious disappearance!
